Thousand of tourists from all parts of the world that daily converge in the Cuban capital include among their visits the Revolution Square, where the image of the Heroic Guerrilla stands. This work was produced by the genius of the sculptor Enrique Silva and it was placed on the facade of the Minister of the Interior building on October 8 th, 1993 . The choice of renewing from time to time with different graphics Che’s presence in a place so venerated by Cubans of all generations was left behind. It has been indeed, the center of many important historical facts along the history of the revolutionary process. The relief made out of metal and concrete with its 16 tons of weight is impressive. In the artist’s conception, the beams were associated to something important since he considered Che as a builder of Socialism. The message “Hasta la Victoria siempre” is based on the hero’s original handwriting. “From the artistic point of view, the lines were very simple, so I made them three-dimensional, which was also very economical”, said the author about his work.
